Overview: Week 6

Week 6 covers a single chapter - our final chapter (phew!), Chapter 9. One last new truth functional connective, the biconditional, is added to our toolkit of "ands" and "ors" and "nots". Along with this new connective, we learn 2 new rules which make use of it, equivalence and bicondition (shocking, right?!). After this last bit of vocabulary "housekeeping", DeLancey leads us through a journey of discovering how and why we can use theorems (introduced in chapter 8) to reduce our workload when we're faced with complicated proofs. He demonstrates with a well-known theorem, one of a set known as De Morgan's Laws.

Next week is dedicated to review - no new material! Something to look forward to. :) As always, reach out for consultation.

Schedule at least 2 uninterrupted 45-minute blocks throughout the week, to focus on the chapter reading. As you look at the problem sets, notice any that seem challenging, and post about them in the Discussion Forum by Tuesday: this will give your classmates time to respond!
